Key West - Getting To & From the City
Airport
The Key West International Airport is located in the Northeast end of the Key West Island. Known as EYW, this airport services many national and international flights with millions of travelers arriving and departing from all over the world. More importantly, it is just a few minutes drive from downtown Key West, many Key West attractions and Key West luxury hotels.
Transportation
While car rentals are easily available at the Key West International airport and many other places, if you are staying in any boutique hotels downtown Key West, it would be advisable not to rent a car. Key West is not a big city and most of the attractions are in the Old Town area where it is easier to get around on foot. Also, parking can be a real problem.
On the other hand, bikes and scooters can be an excellent alternative to explore the island more thoroughly and leisurely. There are many bike and scooter rental agencies near luxury hotels Key West that you can use to quickly visit some of the nearby beaches or the sea front.
If you are a history buff, we highly recommend that you take the Conch Tour Train or Trolley tour. Not only do you get to see the whole island in a completely unusual way but you also get to learn quite a bit of Key West history. The tour runs daily and you could take it starting from the Shipwreck Historium located on Front Street or depending on where your five star luxury hotel Key West is located, you can take it from the corner of Front Street and Duval Street.
